NY Fashion week 2009: Marc Jacobs



Looks like Marc Jacobs was trying to convey a lot of things during his runway show, this week in Bryant Park. The general theme is a modernized glam version of the 80's. "I was thinking about the good old days in New York," he said after the show, "when getting dressed up was such a joy." Maybe these dark, glamourized looks are enough to lift our spirits from the economic crisis of 2009?

Trends: We are still seeing opaque tights, booties, and over the knee boots (thank god --im not ready to give any of those up yet). There's preppy, there's goth, a lot of 80's nostaliga. There were high waisted pants, high waisted belts, and even gloves to the elbow. Here are some shots from Marc Jacobs' runway show:
